Roman Heresies: Transubstantiation
The following is from the email discussions I have been having with a Roman Catholic nun.  My response is to the Roman position she explains and conforms to.

Sister V,

Roman Heresy (cont)  (Transubstantiation)

You statement that there is “nothing impossible with God” is just not true.  Now I am not trying to be offensive but there are things that are impossible with God.  Here are some things that are impossible with God:

1. He cannot lie,
2. He cannot change his mind,
3. He cannot refuse to do what He said He will do.
4. All the things He says will be made good!

Numbers 23:19:

Hath he said, and will he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good?

Transubstantiation is one of the things that God cannot do.  Why?

Transubstantiation is the claimed conversion of an ordinary wafer into the entire body of our Lord - hide, hair, blood, guts and gore, the entire body of flesh.  The purpose of this conversion is to able to sacrifice Him again and again.  That literally means to keep on killing him! He is a continual sacrifice, so says the Roman Church.

This is subject is false because God cannot do this.  If He were to do it, He would be a liar and as Scripture says, He cannot lie.  If He were to lie, then He would not be God.

How so?

John 19: 28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture),

After this Jesus, knowing that all things are now finished, that the scripture might be accomplished, saith, I thirst. There was set there a vessel full of vinegar: so they put a sponge full of the vinegar upon hyssop, and brought it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.

What is it that was finished? It was His becoming accursed for us and giving His life upon that Cross of Damnation for our sin.  It was the ONE sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.  It was finished

Where does it say this? Let’s go to the letter to the Hebrews, chapter 10. By which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us: nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place year by year with blood not his own;  else must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once at the end of the ages hath he been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this cometh judgment; so Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to them that wait for him, unto salvation.

“Once for all” means Christ’s one sacrifice is for ALL the sins of the world.  ALL the sins, past, present and yet future -- ALL! We have discussed the word “ALL” before.  It means All with no left overs. Once for all His body is given, Once for all.  Transubstantiation makes this a lie.  It says that His body is consecrated for sacrifice over and over and over and over again.  Now I ask you – since God cannot lie, and clearly either God or Rome is lying, just who is it that is lying?

When Christ was hung on the cross, he became a curse for us.  He had to be cursed in order to satisfiy the demands of righteousness.  Galatians 3: 13

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: that upon the Gentiles might come the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Hebrews 10:12 --

 but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

My heart aches for the people who believe in this Roman Hocus Pocus.  It says offered Himself ONCE!  For how long?  FOREVER!

Don't you see that He became accursed for us.  We who should die and suffer eternal punishment, He died for US  -  ONCE!  Once is enough!!   He obviously came down from that cross, because now is sitting down at the right hand of the Father.

This, however, is not the picture that Rome paints.  They preach through their liturgy and idols, that Christ is still accursed!   This is what the Apostle Paul had to say about this.

! Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.

Not true you say?

NOT TRUE?

You can bet your bottom dollar that this is true.  Look at the crucifix -- They still have Christ hanging from the Cross.  This is a "preachment" of the constant and continuing accursedness of Christ.  Further, the very sacrifice of the mass/Eucharist is also a proclamation of their belief in the continued accursedness of Christ.  These two things alone prove Rome's hatred of Christ and proves further their faithful service to their father, the serpent of Genesis and the great Red Dragon of Revelation.

While He died for all sin for all people, salvation applies only to those who eat His flesh and drink His blood (John 6:53 Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have not life in yourselves)

Woops, what am I saying?  Am I not agreeing with you?  No, I am not. Jesus explains what He means by this and similar verses in John 6:63

It is the Spirit that giveth life; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken unto you are spirit, are life

Think about Numbers 23:19 – God, cannot lie, change His mind, or fail in what He has said He will do.  How does this fit?  Consider that Christ has said throughout John, thus far, that all who believe in him will have life.  There are a couple of exceptions.

Consider John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto unto her,

If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

And, of course, John 6:53 above.  Both are made clear in John 6:63.  Christ’s words are Spirit and Life.

Now then what does He mean “Spirit and Life”?  In John 4, the living water, He is talking about is the indwelling Holy Spirit which takes up residence in your life and you are thereby “born again” as in John 3.

In John 6:63 it is the same thing.  His words describe the function of the indwelling Holy Spirit in giving the recipient (who has become the temple of God 1 Cor 8:16) life and that eternal.  The Spirit makes one into a New Creation. (2 Cor 5:17)

This fits, because if you will review the first six chapters of John you will see that Jesus says over and over again that one must believe in Him to have eternal life.  When He gets to the Water, Flesh, and Blood, these are metaphors of Spirit and Life, according to His own words, and He is God and God cannot life.

In the other verses you site, Sister, communion is what is described.  It is a remembrance of Christ giving His life – flesh and blood for us.  The elements are bread and wine – only.  They have NO mystical elements.

I will shortly write about another portion of this Roman lie.  There are some fantastic stories told about men and women who “swoon” in the worship of the wafer god.  These stories are direct reproductions of identical pagan stories that Rome copied and used as evidence of the miraculous works of the “swoonies” in order to make them saints to be venerated!

With this in mind, understand that you need to come out of the Roman church.  It is preventing you from believing in Christ ALONE, through Grace Alone, by Faith Alone, as shown in the Scriptures alone.

Come out of Rome, place your faith in Christ and He, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit will take up residence in your life and give you new life.

In prayer for your life.

Salvation

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."  Ephesians 2:8-9
