Does Roman Catholicism teach demon worship? Consider that this great body of “Christians” do regularly and continually worship demons. With the following information think this through. Demons: The Greek word for Demon is daimones (daimon.) Here is what Liddell & Scott Lexicon provides for one definition of the word: “II. Daimones are souls of men of the golden age, acting as tutelary deities, Lat. lares, lemures, genii. They formed the connecting link between gods and men. Hence when daimones and theoi (gods) are mentioned together, the daimones are gods of lower rank. Theos is never used for daimon, though daimon is used for Theos. In later authors, daimon is used for ANY departed souls (Lat manes, lemurs)” Notice that the Lexion states that a daimon is a departed soul of men of the golden age. Then, later, the word daimon came to mean the souls of ANY departed soul These daimons were “gods.” Notice the word TUTELARY. This means “guardian.” They were the link between God and man. The “manes” of the Hindu religion and the buddhas of Buddhism can be traced to Adam/Noah. Osirus, Horus of Egypt and Baal, Ninus can be traced to Cush/Nimrod. The whole host of the pagan gods in all 6 continents (this excludes Antarctica) can be traced to these men. They were the men of the golden age. When these men died they were elevated to “hero” status – their daimons (spirits/souls) were believed to be still active and present. They were considered philanthropic. The ancients prayed to them, worshiped them. They were their guardians. Demonic worship is the worship of the dead. As time went on, more and more people were elevated to hero status and became guardian daimons of this and that. Augustine records that ancient Rome had thousands of them. One was even known as Vaticanus, the daimon (guardian god) of the crying baby. Augustine called these gods – demigods. The “demi” portion of demigod comes from the word daimon or demon. God spoke through the apostle Paul, this message: “Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils 1 Tim 4:1 Now that word “devils” in the King James is the word daimonion (δαιμονιων) in Greek. It is the word we are talking about. Paul is not referring to sharp horned, long tailed, pitch fork carrying devils here, he is referring to the demons (daimons) that we have been talking about. They are the souls/spirits of the dead. Notice he is talking about “doctrines.” That means teaching. He is talking about teachings that fallen men will try to introduce into the church. Consider the previous chapter: “but if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how men ought to behave themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” 1 Tim 3:15 Paul is warning Timothy to watch out for the teachings that promote demonism. The church is to be the pillar and support of truth and one must always be on guard to eliminate or block all false doctrine. What is the teaching of demonism? Well, as we have seen a demon is the departed spirit/soul of a dead person. This person is consider a Hero by the people and they look to the demon that now this person to be their “guardian,” to intercede for them with their “god.” Does this not sound familiar? These “hero, guardian, intercessory, demons” are what are called saints today by the Catholic church. Oh, and you can include the worship of Mary in this. This is apostasy! It is “END TIMES APOSTASY!” Expressly, the Latter Times as denoted in 1 Timothy 4:1. Does it not amaze you that God told us through the Apostle Paul, 2000 years ago that this was going to happen?
