| To whom was Mary Married? |

I have been reading a rather difficult but very interesting book titled “The Worship of the Dead.” It traces the development of the pagan gods back to the family of Noah, primarily Ham’s son, Cush, and his son, Nimrod. Now Cush is also known as Bel, but so is his son Nimrod. In this book, and others, they are known as Bel the lesser, (Cush) and Bel the greater (Nimrod.) When these men died they were made into Gods and assigned to a heavenly object. The sun was the habitation of Bel the greater. Now Cush (Bel the less) was the king of Babel. He married Semiramus. She, of course was queen. Their son was Nimrod (Bel the greater.) When Cush died Nimrod seems to have married his mother. Nimrod (Bel the greater, and also named Tammuz) died or was killed early. Thereafter he was deified. It is necessary to recognize that these men became known by many names, such as Jupiter, Adonis, Hermes, Bacchus and many others. Now Semiramus died eventually. She, too, was deified. She became the queen of heaven. You see her, as the goddess queen of heaven in statues that show her holding her young son, (Nimrod, Bel, and (another name) Harpocrates. She, too, has many names; Diana, Ishtar, Isis, Athena, and Mary? Mary? Why Mary? Look at the similarities. Semiramus was married to the father and son, Cush and Nimrod. “God” says St. Epiphanus, “prepared for His Only Begotten Son, the heavenly bride, a Virgin, whom the Father loved, whom the Son inhabited, whom the Holy Ghost searched thoroughly” (The Immaculate Conception of The Mother of God by The Right Rev. Bishop Ullathorne,D.D. 1855. p. 8). So, clearly a Roman saint, Epiphanus states that Mary is the bride of Christ. 14. ... Unite, then, Venerable Brethren, your prayers with Ours, and at your exhortation let all Christian peoples add their prayers also, invoking the powerful and ever-acceptable intercession of the Blessed Virgin. You know well the intimate and wonderful relations existing between her and the Holy Ghost, so that she is justly called His Spouse. The intercession of the Blessed Virgin was of great avail both in the mystery of the Incarnation and in the coming of the Holy Ghost upon the Apostles. ... Source: DIVINUM ILLUD MUNUS, ENCYCLICAL OF POPE LEO XIII ON THE HOLY SPIRIT, MAY 9, 1897. Here Mary is espoused to the Holy Spirit. The image of Mary as Bride of God originates in patristic times. Saint Germanus of Constantinople called Mary Theonymphos, a Greek term meaning "God-wed" or "Wedded to God". Saint Augustine of Hippo writes "Mary was the only one who merited to be called the Mother as Spouse of God" Now the two Saints above claim that Mary is espoused to God, wedded to God. So, here we have Roman teaching that Mary is wedded to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, AND she is the mother of God. Further she has been deified. She has to have been deified, she is the mother of God is that not what is claimed? Further it is claimed that Mary has been united with her Son in heaven and has joint rule with Christ. (The Saints; Saint Mary the Virgin, Rene-Marie de La Broise,) Now if she is UNITED with Christ that means they are one. If they are one that has to mean that she is a goddess. So here we have it, Goddess Mary, Queen of Heaven. This is the Mary you see all over holding her infant son Jesus. Does this not parallel Semeriamus? It should, it is meant to be the same. de la Broise, a catholic writer says she and Jesus are united, that means ONE. How can they be ONE if she is not deified? |
The title to this book is provocative and labels Roman Catholicism as Pagan and not Christian. Am I trying to pick on Roman Catholics? Learn More...
