You may think to yourself “not another book on Catholicism”, but the reality is that you need to give this one a read. It is a short (notwithstanding the 427 pages) and concise review as to how the Roman Catholic Church is in truth, nothing but paganism by another name. The book has been thoughtfully laid out in a manner that will make it easy to use either as a quick reference or for one-on-one witnessing. The book is also suitable for home and neighborhood bible studies (no study guide yet). Larry has written the book in such a way to try and keep the reader from bogging down in the details as in other textbooks. As you read this book, you will discover many interesting and yet disturbing facts concerning the Roman Catholic Church. The details of many Roman Catholic rituals and sacraments will be discussed with no sugar coating, which will leave you pondering as to “why do they still do these things”. Escape from Paganism has references and quotes profusely throughout its many chapters, so that the validity of the statements made can be verified for the discerning. The book presents ample evidence that Larry has spent much time and effort into gathering and collating the information contained within. For usability each chapter is able to stand on its own so that you may use the information to your advantage. I personally liked the appendix: “Successors of Peter? Really?”. In it, Larry shows his humorous side as he lists the many popes and their accomplishments (?) as they rose in power and reigned in the church. You will be shocked reading of the wickedness of such men who call themselves successors to Peter. As a whole, it is a reference that has answers to the most common questions that you or even a doubting or stalwart Catholic may have. You will see often, the presentation of the gospel and the certainty of hell and damnation for those who are not in the Lord. Believers and the “so-called” believers will be starkly shown so that there will be little question as to a person’s stand concerning God’s word. Interjected throughout the book are personal stories and insights into Larry’s life prior to becoming a believer. As you peruse this book, many notables will stand out, such as Larry’s quest to present the truth and his love for the Lord. No doubt will be left as to what the Roman Catholic Church believes about God, Jesus, Mary and salvation. It was abundantly clear that his desire was for the book to be used to bring people out of bondage into the full knowledge of the Lord. Get your hands on a copy of this book and make good use of the facts contained within. Use it as a tool in confronting the Roman Catholic as a part in fulfilling the Great Commission.
